Archival supervision consists of all the actions taken by the state archives in the area of shaping archival resources. Shaping archival resources is one of the main tasks for state archives and is intended to safeguard documentation of historical value, created in connection with the activities of various organisational bodies, as fully as possible for future generations. The National Archives in Krakow conducts supervision mainly through systematic archival checks, providing expert opinions and establishing clerical-archival rules, expert help for documentation in employment archives and repositories of records, expressing consent for the lack of non-archival documentation of state and local-government bodies, as well as educational activities in the field of documentation management (consultation, instruction and workshops).
