{"id":6145,"date":"2019-03-21T11:17:52","date_gmt":"2019-03-21T10:17:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ank.aws.indelso.ovh\/?page_id=6145"},"modified":"2022-01-18T15:53:56","modified_gmt":"2022-01-18T14:53:56","slug":"old-writing-website","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ank.gov.pl\/en\/what-we-do\/popularization-education-and-publications\/education\/old-writing-website\/","title":{"rendered":"Old Writing website"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ank.gov.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/edukacja_dp.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-6498 colorbox-6145\" src=\"https:\/\/ank.gov.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/edukacja_dp-1024x647.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"647\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ank.gov.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/edukacja_dp-1024x647.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ank.gov.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/edukacja_dp-300x189.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ank.gov.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/edukacja_dp-768x485.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ank.gov.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/edukacja_dp.jpg 1295w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Old Writing website <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The dawnepismo.ank.gov.pl website is a place for fans of old writing, lovers of the artistry of scribes and illustrators as well as for all those who like to decipher writing from the past.<\/p>\n<p>The Old Writing project has been carried out by the National Archives in Krakow since 2013, including the preparation of a website acting as an interactive guide to the science of deciphering old writing, which we are gradually complementing with new content.<\/p>\n<p>The website consists of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a theoretical part \u2013 presenting subjects connected with the history of writing<\/li>\n<li>a practical block \u2013 allowing you to try exercises in deciphering historical documents<\/li>\n<li>an education through fun zone \u2013 offering a set of games and fun activities connected with old writing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our goal is to pass on our knowledge concerning writing in a user-friendly manner, differing from the methods used in textbooks, and, above all, to help you to independently acquire practical skills through exercise and fun activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The project is targeted at:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>users of archives, including amateur genealogists and historians, who are presented with the task of \u201cdeciphering\u201d writing from centuries ago in their searches<\/li>\n<li>students and teachers searching the mysteries of the past, as well as those who research the history of writing<\/li>\n<li>history fans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The practical exercises and fun activities have been prepared based on documents created from the Middle Ages until the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century. They include royal privileges, private letters and entries in record books. The texts present various levels of difficulty, thanks to which it is easy to choose tasks which are suitable for you.
